testing new units

I had 2 50pt games using my new units to see how they would perform whilst I won both games it didn't go exactly to plan

the main thing that didn't happen was the waves in which I wanted the list to function but I was playing the scenario with killbox 2 flags and a circle zone so I ended up splitting the big pack of mechthralls to capture my flag whilst I tried to contest the zones which worked fine.

the carrion thralls didn't really do much and neither did nightmare but I did play quite cautiously with him as well as the birds they were in a bush with stealth unit some winterguard with mini feat n they got pretty much sprayed off the table lol

so it needs some more work and trial and error I haven't had chance to try the wither shadow combine yet maybe when I get a 75pt game ill try em out lol

next on the agenda is what I'm pairing denny1 with as much as I like goreshade1 he is very similar to denny in that hell have a gd go at cracking arm but I think the pairing still has some gaps

so I decided to go for another lady! skarre1

so the main idea for this list is high def skew and a jack spam counter with the amount of feedback in the list it will make playing aggressive difficult  

black spot and barathrum will chip away 2 boxes each time it damages that jack with its claws which is awesome!

the shrikes have a +4 to dmg on trample and can trample any base size

the rest is my deff skew with snap jaw and +2 deff vs shooting and ignore blasts theyl be hard to shift and they all have feedback to take out journeyman quickly n then move on to the caster

the only change I am possibly goin to make is dropping the shrikes for death rippers to make sure I have enough arc nodes to throw out black spot safely

so iv ordered some raiders the captains witch's wrong eye and skarre1 so they'll be here next week and ill try them out week after hopefully

building stuff

iv received all the models I need to finish the 75pt list and so far iv done this!

 

mechanithralls and commander

iv also done the withershadow combine and they are all primed and ready for paint!

its still very much humble beginnings  still have the rest to build n prime but the nights are drawing in and getting colder which is a pain for hobbying this time of year any sunny day is now a blessing lol

hopefully over the next week or so they will be done and then I can do a big group shot!

lol any way  wave 1 is mechanithralls and skarlock commander. the skarlock is to stop annoying debuff spells etc from slowing me down. part 2 is the birds once the enemy has been damaged they can mop up with 4 dice for dmg as well as speed 7 they can  zoom around the board as well and flight to charge over other units.

wave 2 is the light jacks or arc nodes so that denny can safely throw out her spells if worst comes to it they'll get out in front and jam up zones and be annoying with def14 they shud need some boosting to hit before they fall over lol

wave 3 is denny heavies and the wither shadow crew who are here mainly to help with upkeeps cast free spells and spamming crippling grasp! and influence which I keep forgetting about with my succubus but that's a different story for another blog lol

so that's it next list to finish is goreshade1 and then my pairing is done!
